Common Questions & Repair Guides

Everything you need to know about our glove relacing, leather conditioning, turnaround schedules, and custom services.

Essential Glove Service Answers

What is the standard turnaround time?

What quality of lacing is used?

Most full relacing and conditioning projects take 3 to 5 business days from the time it arrives at our shop. Including shipping both ways, expect a 10-14 day turnaround time.

We use professional-grade 3/16, 3.5/16, and 1/4 inch lace sourced from the same tanneries that the glove manufactures use.

How should I package my glove for shipping?

Can stiff or brittle vintage leather be saved?

Place your glove in a rigid cardboard box with some paper or bubble wrap. Typically, a cardboard box size of 10x10x6 is big enough for most gloves. Catcher's mitts and first-base mitts may require a larger box.

Our deep-cleansing balm and conditioning treatment penetrates dry leather to restore it to its former condition. Leather dries out over time and proper conditioning is vital to keep it around a long time, even to sit on a shelf.

What type of conditioners are used?

We use a few different brands of high-quality conditioners. All of our conditioners are all-natural and do not contain any ingredients that are harmful to the leather.

Can I choose my lace color?

Yes! We source laces from a couple of different suppliers. Between them, we can offer you pretty much any color you want. Specific colors do run out of stock on occasion but for the most part, tell us what you want, and we can get it for you.

Can you fix a glove that is stiff or hard to close?

Yes. We can work on the glove's flexibility, pocket, and break-in to help it feel more game-ready. Whether it's a brand-new glove or one that just needs a little extra flexibility, we can handle it.

What can't you do to my glove?

Some repairs require specialized equipment that we don’t have in-house. For those jobs, I work with trusted repair partners who may be able to help. These repairs can take longer and cost more. If your glove needs extensive work, reach out and we’ll figure out the best solution.
